Winter holidays in Kastelruth – Dolomites

Tracks in the snow

Winter transforms the landscape. And, in a way, it transforms us too.
Paths become white trails, meadows turn into wide snowy expanses – welcome to your winter holiday in Kastelruth, surrounded by a true winter wonderland. You move through this landscape differently. Perhaps a little slower. Certainly, more mindfully. On skis, snowshoes or cross-country skis. Or wrapped in a warm blanket on your balcony. Simply enjoy your time. That's really all a winter holiday in the Dolomites needs.
Skiing on the Seiser Alm
Peter’s Tips
"When I think of winter, I immediately think of skiing and cross-country skiing. And we're incredibly lucky here. The free ski bus no. 5 takes you just 3 km to Seis, where the gondola lifts you effortlessly onto the Seiser Alm. Instead of spending time looking for a parking space, you can enjoy 181 km of ski slopes, 80 km of cross-country trails or, with the Dolomiti Superski Pass, access to 1,200 km of slopes across 12 ski resorts. That should keep you busy for quite a few memorable days on the snow."

Winter hiking in the Schlern area
Heidi’s Tips
"My favourite winter walk? If only I could choose just one... The hike to the Marinzen Alm is certainly among them. Walking through the snow-covered forest before being rewarded with magnificent panoramic views. If you prefer something quieter, head for the Tuffalm near Völs. Thanks to the South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can take the bus free of charge to the Völser Weiher, from where it's about a 40-minute walk. Or you can set off directly from SANVALENTIS – around two and a half hours each way. Plenty of time to leave everyday life behind."
